Sexual Assault Solidarity Gathering. In recognition of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, our PCA's Sexual Assault Response & Prevention Team invites you to an eve...nt on Sunday, April 25th, at 3pm at the Eaton Street Pavilion. There will be some brief introductory remarks, a period of silence, and then a chance for participants to speak as they wish. This panel will feature representatives from Help Restore Hope, the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) program, and State Police Special Investigations. In addition to Sexual Assault Awareness Month, April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month! Help Restore Hope Center offers free and confidential therapy services to both adults and children impacted by domestic violence and sexual assault. We also support and partner with our counties’ Child Advocacy Centers (CAC) for instances of child abuse. The Children’s Advocacy Center is a multidisciplinary team that investigates child physical abuse and sexual abuse, with the purpo...se of minimizing trauma and strengthening prosecution of the defendant. The CAC is child-focused and designed to be a less intimidating environment for the family to meet with law enforcement, CPS investigators and advocates.
