It is with a heavy heart that we let everyone know of the passing of George, our barn cat, who many of you have seen/met over the years as you choose your Christmas Tree. George was dumped at our farm probably close to a decade ago and lived in our barn. She was very vocal and would hang out amongst the trees. She often visited with people as they picked their perfect tree. During the summer, she would play in the tall grass or hang out on the equipment around the farm. ...As she became more and more trusting of humans, she began coming into the shop to relax while we worked, sometimes napping by the pellet stove or under the rocking chair. She would jump up in your lap and purr often. We had no idea her age or her past, but to us she was our little Hemlock Haven ambassador who hung out with employee and customer alike. She let us know when it was time to eat or when she wanted to be pet. She had a heated cat house in her own "George's place" and added that little extra to Hemlock Haven. We will miss her terribly but know that she has gone to the rainbow bridge where she is free from pain, enjoying the shade of a tree, and playing to her hearts content. We love you George. See more
