celebrate HER @mercedesewilson Sharing the stories of women who have had this disease and turned something aweful into something amazing! Stories of strength, courage and inspiration. Teaching so many of us about living our best lives healthy and happy. Giving back to others fighting the disease, those that have lost their fight and educating on where to support and give back. I will share who they are and the services and products that they offer. Mercedes founded, @foro...urdaughters.inc which is a non-profit dedicated to teaching young women how to advocate for themselves in regards to their health and well being. For Our Daughters was birthed out of Mercedes’ painful breast cancer diagnosis, and how she was unaware of her own family medical history. Four thousand young women, and counting, have been nurtured and equipped with the tools necessary to have serious conversations about their health through educational workshops and the annual Mother-Daughter Luncheon. This year Mercedes E Wilson has used her strength and creativity to create a fundraiser virtual and I’m so grateful to be a part of empowering our young women to value + love who they are! The one that lifts you up when you can’t do it yourself, that surrounds you and gives you strength when feeling strong may not be what you are feeling. Her Story launched the Strong Woman Collection in 2010 with the intention of celebrating our own strength as women, but also the women in our lives who inspire that strength. There are many times when we feel that we can’t get through something but we have that woman th...at helps us and reminds us of just who we are. Today is October 1st, the beginning of Breast Cancer awareness month. Although it may look different this year, our Celebrate HER celebration will still be about sharing other strong women + their stories. Each week, we will share the story of women who have had this disease and turned something aweful into something amazing! Stories of strength, courage and inspiration. Teaching so many of us about living our best lives healthy and happy. Giving back to others fighting the d...isease, those that have lost their fight and educating on where to support and give back. We will share who they are and the services and products that they offer. These pink products started out as a way to build awareness of breast cancer. But now that we are all so aware of this disease, we need to go another step further, and work harder at finding a cure and help those living with it. This means supporting organizations and foundations that make sure their money is going directly where we need it most. Over the next month we will be working passionately to show case which of these organizations we believe in. As I always say knowledge is power.
