Thanks to Kareem and Storm @gmgt.live radio for an awesome interview this morning and for highlighting and sharing my story in honor of International Women's History Month. "Allison Dunn was born on the Island of Jamaica. After attending college at the University of the West Indies, she made the move to Brooklyn in search of the American Dream. She settled in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens, a neighborhood known for its vibrant culture and diverse mix of people. After a decade ...of work in the marketing field, and becoming a mom, she decided to follow her dream and embrace life as an entrepreneur. Her first business venture was as a home organizer, where she helps people to live a happier life by turning their clutter into joy. In the process of working as an organizer she was inspired by her son to write a children’s book, Khison is Having Company", where she encourage parents to teach kids how to organize at an early age and make organizing a fun activity. Through a life centered around being a mom, organizing, eating and staying healthy, and building great friendships within the community, Allison came to focus on the way in which food effects mood and overall health. This was compounded by the realities of the COVID-19 pandemic that required a healthy body to help fight the virus. Allison was inspired to create a space where she can share healthy habits with others and bring joy to all parts of the community despite the challenges of the pandemic. Faith met destiny when a space became available right on Flatbush Avenue, the center of PLG. Hibiscus Brew was born as a place for food and conversation that pays homage to her home island of Jamaica and delivers joy one yummy smoothie at a time." #internationalwomenshistorymonth #womenmonth #womensupportingwomen #blackownedbusiness #smallbusiness #entrepreneur #womeninbiz #caribbeangirl #brooklyn #prospectleffertsgardens
