Higher Love

Hot Potato. I was cracking up about how our partners refuse to touch our core material with a 10 foot pole (see my igtv about intimacy). Not funny during but in hindsight we have to laugh at the shit we do to coerce and demand that our partners pick up the material that *we ourselves* refuse to touch. I was 10 years into a relationship before I realized that. Of course before we realize that our core material, our childhood wounding, is ours, it feels like we are being reject...ed, hurt, abandoned by our partners in their refusal to comply with our unconscious demands. But once you realize what you’re doing and let go of that fantasy, everything reorganizes. In yesterday’s video we didn’t get to their side of the street, so it’s not to let our partners off the hook point blank. But until we clean up our side of the street everything is too murky to decipher who’s stuff is where. The new life goals you need right now.

Instead of believing you will be happy when you get rid of what you hate most in yourself, recognize that the unhappiness is caused by the division, by the turning away. May I trust how I’m growing Be the gentlest you’ve ever been to yourself. Now is a good time for absolute kindness. Find the parts that seem the least deserving of love and hold them with the most tender love you can muster. You think you’ll be free when you’re rid of them but there is no getting rid. Only showing them the love & care they always deserved but have never known. That’s all they ever needed but felt the hardest to give. Not sure there’s anything harder or more worthwhile than loving those unloveable parts. But no, there is no getting rid, only finally bringing them home. See more
