Ok my wise friends, I've been thinking about this reality that we're in. There seems to be two different perspectives. One is "you vs them" - I see this in the... don't come here from your city mentality, which trust me I understand and feel (see previous post!) The other is the "we, us" mentality that is at the heart of why we are social distancing. We are doing it so that if we flatten the curve to SAVES lives, because the medical resources we need to treat infected patients are not tied up. I think people are getting the point of social distancing confused with ending this stay at home mandate sooner. That is not necessarily the case. The course of this outbreak is supposed to be prolonged so that we aren't asking healthcare providers to make the choice of who gets to live or die. Think about that. And if you're still with me, here's my question: How would you explain this phenomenon of coming from a place of separation vs one of unity? Is there a concept that encompasses this? What would you call this? Trying to wrap my head around how people are seeing the social distancing. How do we get from separation to unity?

To much RASCIST hate speech and actions are coming out of fear and uncertainty. Please take the high road and don't react out of fear. There is always something you don't see about a situation. Be humble people, you don't know everything, none of us do. But instead of reacting out of fear let's step into that discomfort and find out what is driving that. I promise what you learn will make your life fuller. Please stop calling it China virus if you are.

I feel that good information is critical right now. This really isn't comparable to the flu folks. The rate of transmission of COVID-19 is substantially higher than the seasonal flu. Yes, many people die of the flu annually, but MANY more people are going to be affected by this if measures are not taken by all of us.
