Copied from Darrin’s Page: Thank you for all the kind words thoughts and prayers for the passing of my mother June Stevens . Mom was a unique person ,kind of an icon in the community or at least to us she certainly was. She was old school, started out a farm girl right here at Hansen's Dairy ,however the way she talked, farming wasn't really her thing . Mom was into fashion ,as a kid her clothes infringed on all of our closet space , today in her four bedroom home, every clos...et is full of her things . Friends were plentiful , she is the one person I know who has a friend repertoire span over many generations . From my kids friends to mine , Karen's , Diane's David's and Bobby's ect... ect... ect...and of course her own, she knew them and they knew her all in a way that she would always be happy to see them. The bowling alley was her favorite place where she was most at home , because it was home . Mom knew early on that bowling was the venue , however Hilltop was the meeting place where we as family always come together and was proud that community came together there as well. Family was everything to her , I cant stress that enough, in my opinion she created an amazing family of which I couldn't be more thankful to be a part of and I love them all dearly. Great job mom , you did good and you did it by example . June , worked every day right up to her final days , she would work toe to toe with all of us on a 8-10 hour day and never complain, and at 88 that's pretty amazing . Never went to the doctor , never took a pill her whole life . Always went with us , you would never know her age, she was just one of the peeps , definitely cool. Never blurted out her opinion or butt in ( very unique these days ) Only gave advice if you asked , ( and it was always very short ) She had a lot of great sayings we call them ( Nannyisms ) If you needed to see the Alleys deposit slip from March 1 st 1977, she could find it in five minutes . ( she kept great records ) I could go on and on... We take comfort in the fact that she past on her own terms , just as she lived. Mom had a great life and gave us great examples to aspire to . We will be having a private family service this Wednesday at McLoughlin Mason Funeral Home . Due to the Pandemic we thought it would be best . We will have a celebration of life party in the spring that I invite all to attend . My mother never missed bowling night on Wednesdays , dad always had a saying in our house growing up. " god forbid I die on bowling night , because you will still go bowling " lol Well guess what , in her honor we will have bowling night on Wednesday and we will all be there. Maybe we will see you there too RIP June Stevens. 12/7/31-12/10/2020
