SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT MARCH AND APRIL PROGRAM POSTPONEMENTS DUE TO THE COVID-19 HEALTH CRISIS All March and April programs currently scheduled for the Historical Society of the Tonawanda are being canceled due to concerns over the coronavirus. Pursuant to State directives, Tonawanda Pavilion is limiting attendance and Tonawanda City Hall is closing at 4:30 PM, with no evening meetings until further notice. Our guest speaker for March, Trina Robbins, has canceled her trip East,... but she hopes we can reschedule. Our volunteers have put a lot of work into the special Gladys Parker programs, so it will be our intention to figure out a way to reschedule them. I think more people will want to attend and view the work of this incredible woman when the world returns to more normalcy. I want to personally thank the museum staff and development committee for their time and efforts to put together the displays and promotional materials for this beautiful program. Anyone who has sent in payment for these programs will have their check returned ASAP. Thank you for your continued support and please stay well. Alice C. Roth President EDITOR’S NOTE: The Historical Society of the Tonawandas is very fortunate to have a garment designed by the late Gladys Parker in its collections and showcasing it and other similar designs at the same program that featured Ms. Parker’s fellow designer and cartoonist, Trina Robbins, is an event that has generated a great deal of excitement. It will, therefore, be a top future priority to reschedule. While the planned exhibit must be postponed, we would like to thank the staff from SUNY Buffalo State College who assisted in preparing the garments for display at the March program. While it is important to follow the directives of the Governor and our local, state, and national health officials, the society’s most important task is to ensure the health and safety of its members and community friends.

Time for us to share another unidentified photo. On the back is the name "Christina Fehrmann" and address of 205 Sommer St. with notes that appear to be for having the photo framed. Our research gave us Christina's maiden name as Goodman. In 1902, she married to Wiliam C. Fehrmann in North Tonawanda. Back to the photo, we do not know if Mrs. Fehrmann is actually in the photo. No one is identified. Neither is the location or who the group of people is.... Any ideas?
