Hodgins Harvest Mushrooms

The Chestnuts abound this week. In a matter of 2 or 3 days they go from the left side of the split screen to the right. We like to pick them before they open up and flatten out for that nice crunchy texture and smooth nutty flavor. It’s been a hot minute since we’ve grown shiitake at Hodgins Harvest. I’ve always felt like it’s so common in grocery stores that I’d rather just spend our time on the harder-to-find varieties. But alas, our market customers have peer pressured me into it and we started growing a little bit of it again. We’ll have a few pounds of it at Piermont tomorrow and another 30 or 40 headed out to our markets next weekend. If you’re a shiitake fan, let us know these next couple weekends and we’ll start growing more!

To our Piermont Market Customers: Sorry to miss you because of the snow storm today. We’ll be doing a local delivery route tomorrow to sell some of the mushrooms we had available for the Piermont Market. The delivery area is within 10 miles of Blauvelt, NY. To order, you can head over to our website (link in bio), order fresh mushrooms from the store and select Pickup at Farmers Market at checkout. If the delivery address is different from the billing address, please include it in a note with the order. Or you can email info(AT)hodginsharvest(DOT)com with the delivery address or any questions.
