"Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise the words of the prophets." -1 Thessalonians 5:16-24 "Make straight the way of the Lord." -John 1:23b Last week we discussed preparing the way for the Lord to enter our hearts. Join us as we discuss how to make straight the way of the Lord in our Church, and in our community. Let us rejoice, together, in the new life that Jesus brings us even in times of darkness and exile. Thanks be to God!... https://holytrinityepiscopalvs.org/

"Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Look the young woman* is with child and shall bear a son, and shall name him Immanuel." -Isaiah 7:14 (*Greek: Virgin) Join us as we talk about this most famous prophecy of Isaiah. Let us learn together the history of this text, and the varying translations, and then let us pray about how we can conceive Christ in our own hearts and give birth to him in our very lives. Have a blessed weekend!

"And one Seraph called to another and said: 'Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory.'" -Isaiah 6:3 Join us as we discuss the Seraphic Hymn that we all join during our Sunday worship. Let us hear the name of God spoken to us: Holy Holy Holy. And may the lips of our hearts be purified to sing God's praises. Note: I don't think I did this passage justice today, so I think we will come back to it tomorrow. Join us every morning at 7am!

"Therefore, as the tongue of fire devours the stubble, and as dry grass sinks down in the flame, so their root will become rotten, and their blossom go up like dust; for they have rejected the instruction of the Lord of hosts, and they have despised the word of the Holy One of Israel." -Isaiah 5:24 Join us as we talk about what it means to listen to prophecy, and how tragedy is often a logical result of human action. In particular, we talk about how as a people we frequently look back and say "why didn't we heed that warning?" only to repeat the same behavior before the next crisis (I am looking at you Climate Change). It was an interesting morning, so come pray with us!
