The gardens continue to overwhelm us. We are canning continually and are barely keeping up. This afternoon I finally broke down & picked the first large bowl of red habaneros.The plants truly outdid themselves. On deck : Ghost peppers!

We're digging potatoes and I have to say, they're looking nice! Jackknife for scale.

We may be starting the 4th of July weekend but the farm work never stops. Today I canned the last of the peas. Red habaneros, tomatoes, potatoes, & green beans are coming on fast. And tomorrow haying season begins.

So the bees were pretty fussy last week & we thought they'd lost their queen. We needn't have worried because on Friday they swarmed! So now we have 2 hives & both seem to be doing well. Now if it would just warm up a little for them!

The peas, potatoes (one thousand hills of potatoes) onions & dill are all up enjoying the sun. The new elderberry, nannyberry, and chokeberry plants are all doing well. We put in the tomatoes (think 160 or so plants), and most of the peppers are out as well. Also added 10 new pear trees & a beautiful cherry tree to the orchard as well. So of course we needed more bees.... we picked them up Wednesday. A feisty 5 frame nuc of awesome honeybees makes a great addition to the farm.
