Hello everyone! Putting out a line to see if there is interest in a prenatal zoom class? Fern is 5.5 months old and I've rearranged my house to accommodate for some video yoga - any expecting mamas into the idea of a weekly prenatal class from home? We will set a weekly time and require pre-registration ($10 a class), taking payment via paypal or venmo - it would be an hour of prenatal yoga and then an optional window of time for chatting and virtual community related to all things parenting/life/birth/postpartum. I will not be doing in-studio classes for some time still due to the pandemic but as I emerge from maternity leave I am looking at options that will be helpful and doable, safely. Let's start a conversation! Thoughts? <3 Feel free to PM me if you're interested but it's not public knowledge that you should be interested! ;)

Leading some socially distant outdoor yoga with a few of my fav yoginis, with a baby snug in my pouch, has me feeling like myself again. Theme for tonight: Be at home in yourSelf, and feel at home in the world... where does the temple begin and where does it end? // Did you practice today?

For my prenatal yoga students- I see you. We will get through this. Keep loving on yourself, you are strong and magnificent even on days when you might not feel that way. Keep loving on your growing or postpartum body, you are magic and mystery, powerful beyond powerful. Keep loving on your baby, small humans are resilient, they won’t know what they are missing outside your nest. There will be much to celebrate when we are on the other side of this virus. Keep breathing, one moment, then the next. Keep it simple, you are doing it.

One of my awesome teachers has some great online offerings up - while I am still sorting schedules out and tending to my family, consider looking into her classes! <3

Meditation ramblings- Black lives don’t just matter, they are sacred and vital. Humans of all backgrounds are welcome here. All colors. All abilities. All beliefs. Even those believing that some shouldn’t be welcome, you’re still welcome. When you are down, when you are up, when you are totally yourself, when you are out of sorts, when you are easy, when you are difficult, when everything is going well and definitely when everything is falling apart. You are welcome here. Com...munity heals. // Living now in a small rural community without a ton of diversity- and as a white family- we can think everything is pretty decent for almost everyone. But you know what- there are changes that need to be made everywhere to better the lives of those oppressed by the system that was (mostly) built by straight men of my color. We purchased our house from a black family that then left the area for a relocated job. I didn’t think twice about it but now I’m thinking... There were subtle comments made to us about that fact. Why did it make a difference? Did they feel welcome in this town? By some, sure- but by all? Where do you and I and other humans fit into this equation? It is extra important to keep our eyes and hearts and minds open. To learn and unlearn. To do better. To speak up when the time is right and to listen when it’s time for that. Black lives don’t just matter, they are sacred and vital to this inter-species allegiance in which we all take part. It’s so disgraceful that it even needs to be said. Lastly- to the mamas and papas and grandparents and caretakers really affecting the next generation- let us apologize, let us burn down and then build anew from the ashes. Let us teach by living. Humans built the socio-economic model we have followed for so long, humans can change it. Let us apologize again. Let us make it better. Let us create a community that heals, to which our children want to belong when they are grown too, one that isn’t disgraceful. One that welcomes humans of all kinds. One that sees into the souls of its members and considers them all capable of being good neighbors. See more

An update for my yoga fam! In case you haven’t heard- our sweet baby, Fern Philomena was born 15 days ago, quickly, and safely at home- surrounded by me, her daddy, her biggest sister and her Maga (grandma). Here she is wearing my 33 year old shirt from St Francis hospital and snoozing away. I hope you are all able to find peace amidst this strange time within your home practice. I will periodically update as things change but for me as of now there are no scheduled classes. If you’re looking for some amazing people to practice with online in the meantime- consider checking out my Vermont friends’ studios for some Ashtanga based Zoom classes etc. Chrissy Lefavour @riseandvibeyoga @gratefulyogavt @vtyogini @yogavermont

YOGA FRIENDS! This space is so dear to me and all who have joined me for Summer yoga or Forest Bathing sessions can attest to it's beauty all year round. I know things are tight for so many of you, but perhaps you could spare a small bit to help them along while the programs are in limbo.... <3 If everyone who has come to yoga the last couple years at Pfeiffer Nature center could donate at least $10, we would be helping!

Just checking in! I miss all of you, I miss our regular practice, I hope you are all finding ways to live your yoga during this surreal time. <3 I'm still very round and pregnant and guessing I have no more than 4 weeks left in this season of growing a small human. It is bittersweet to think I will not experience this miracle within my body again and yet I'm also very much at peace with our little finale being just that. May you be filled with loving kindness. May you be peac...eful and at ease. May you be well. May you know happiness and the roots of all happiness. Namaste. For my prenatal mamas especially: use your breath and remember you were made to do this. Take it one wave at a time. Contract and expand. I love you!
