Tonight, Lieutenant Eric Hansen & Assistant Chief Tyler Zavitz assisted with the Firefighter 1 class that is being held at the PSTF.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Chief Andy Stromfeld.

At approximately 15:07 yesterday, Honeoye Falls Firefighters were dispatched to a shed on fire behind a residence on Maplewood Avenue. Upon our arrival, we found that it was a chicken coop that was burning behind a shed with no immediate exposures to any structures. Thankfully, because of the quick actions of Past Chief and Firefighter Mark Hansen, who resides next door to the owner, the fire was quickly extinguished and all the chickens were unharmed!

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT Today’s member spotlight is Angelo Diminuco! Angelo first joined the HFFD when he was 21 years old. After moving out of the area, he joined the Henrietta Fire District where he served as a firefighter for 12 1/2 years. When he moved back into the area, Angelo rejoined the ranks in November of 2020. ... When I’m not serving my community, I enjoy spending time with close friends and family. I also enjoy attending sporting events, movies, concerts, and am an avid traveler. Angelo also serves as a supervisor with the Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School District. Angelo, we thank you for your dedicated service to the community!

Observing tragedy is not uncommon in the fire service. But the tragic event that occurred Wednesday night was particularly heartbreaking. The Honeoye Falls Fire Department offers its collective thoughts and prayers to the NY Army National Guard, C Company of the 1st Battalion, 171st General Support Aviation Battalion. This event hits particularly close to home as one of our firefighters recently retired from this same Battalion. Additionally, it appears that one of the f...allen soldiers resides in our first due. As usual, there was great collaboration among the myriad of fire, EMS and law enforcement agencies involved. We specifically want to share our admiration for our fellow officers and firefighters of the Mendon Fire District who spent the majority of last night and today supporting the recovery efforts. At 2:33 pm today the East Avon Fire Dartment with mutual aid from Lima and Honeoye Falls for the FAST responded to a hot water heater on fire on Gaywood Drive i...n the Town of Avon. The fire was not severe but the home needed to have smoke cleared from the residence. Engine 274, Quad 276 and Quint 278 responded from East Avon.

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT This weeks member spotlight is Firefighter Alex Proctor! Alex joined the ranks of the Honeoye Falls Fire Department in May of 2020. I wanted to join to give back to the community I grew up in. I like to be along side my friends and all the other good people that are also in the department! ... Alex is a full time student with Monroe Community College where he studies construction management. In his spare time, Alex enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time with friends and family.

Honeoye Falls firefighters, once again, participated in the Golisano Children's Hospital Good Night Lights event! Tonight was the 4th and final night of the year where first responders were able to say Goodnight to the Children! From our family to yours, we wish you and your families a safe and Merry Christmas!

Good evening one and all! Due to technical difficulties, I am unable to do a Facebook live. This Christmas we had to cancel this year's parade. There was a concern for the public's safety due to the large crowds that show up to watch the event. The Parade will be back next year!! For a temporary replacement we decided to toss together a last minute decorating contest in hopes we could still spread a little Christmas cheer. We had 15 families, and businesses answer the call.... We did ask for a small donation for each entry which will be going to the food cupboard, and the rotary. I want to thank everyone that took part in this contest. I promise if we do this in the future, it will be a little more organized. :) And the moment we have all been waiting for, the winners of this year's 1st possibly, possibly not, annual HFFD Christmas decorating extravaganza!!!! Let the Christmas light extravaganza begin! I want to thank each participant for taking part in this last minute competition, and would like to thank you for your donations as well. Lima Volunteer Fire Department, C23, P235 and, Q238 teamed up with; Lakeville C21 and, P215; Honeoye Falls E562 and; Livonia P256, to wish past Chief and President Ken Klink a very special Happy 90th Birthday.
