To be a skilled and effective Goalkeeper comes with a great deal of mental toughness and preparation. Great goalkeepers prepare their skills each and everyday at practices and trainings. They hone in on the technical aspects of their positions and then work to implement these skills during scrimmages and games. At some point these skill sets become reactive and done with out hesitation. A larger portion of a goalkeepers game is the mental aspects of it and being able to w...ork through adversity and thrive off of successes. Understanding the goalies game and how it encompasses so many variables is important. Trust in your goalies and let them grind out adversity. I have coached these two their whole career and as the father, I always had to gear myself back a little more when jumping on them for their mistakes. Always strategically spoke to them and motivated them when they were struggling. They knew exactly where and how they were struggling. They didn’t need me to point this out however, they needed me to listen to them, trust in them and be a motivator to help propel them through tough situations. Trust in your keepers!
