The NYS Assembly version of the bill had remained in the Codes Committee since March 9th. The Elder Parole bill was reported to the NYS Senate Crime Victims, Crime and Correction Committee on April 2nd. #SecondChanceMonth

Working to eliminate food insecurity in our Long Island City community is a daily challenge, but with community support of our partner, LIC Relief, their initiative with the Foodcellar Market #GiveGoodGroceries, food banks, City Harvest, The Food Bank of New York City and our volunteers, meeting the increasing needs of our Hour Children Food Pantry clients is happening, despite the impact of COVID-19.

Statewide progressive groups, with legislators support, are making a push to overhaul New York's parole laws. The effort includes measures to make it easier for incarcerated people to be released, such as Senate Bill S1415, the Fair and Timely Act, as well as Elder Parole provisions. Hon.
