Capricorn Celebrations would be in full swing were we open with Jan 5th being Josh’s birthday, my mom Dolores on the 6th, and me on the 7th. Today my mom would have turned 85 but she left us in June 2020. She had her moments of out there but the woman loved theatre and entertaining herself. She went out of her way to feed or clothe everyone and anyone. I’m sure many of you are still rockin’ one of her thousand knitted hats or scarves. Today I’m grateful for the good intentions this apple inherited from the tree. Dolores would be so grateful for all of your generosity and she would say It’s a beautiful thing. Thank you!

And the decent lose their businesses while these type of people put lives in danger not only by the spread of Covid.

While not in our traditional mode this year, thoughts of all the wonderful people that would join us annually cross my mind. What an awesome 11 years of returning patrons who became friends. Even in the most difficult times there is much to be thankful for. I wish you all a healthy and joyful holiday season with the creative inspiration to forge new good memories. Share your love! Usually I would have already pre-ordered 260lbs of Turkey breasts to roast, 4 cases of sweet potatoes, 5 cases of Brussels sprouts, and 2 cases of pumpkin for pies & soup just for starters. We would normally serve over 150 people out of our 2 man kitchen in a 60 seat establishment including the bar seats. Alas, we are all on a different path this year. We’ve all certainly been challenged with how we keep our connections from a distance. Know that you’re all in our thoughts and wish you a peaceful season in gratitude and hopes for a healthy and loving future!

Hourglass Tavern will be closed this Monday & Tuesday due to the heat advisory and an impending monsoon. I want to personally thank Mother nature for a terrific 48 hour respite.
