From the rank and file at the Harrison Police Department, have a happy, healthy and safe new year!!
It’s that time of year again and a good opportunity to ensure that have the proper precautions to safeguard your home and your loved ones. With increased online shopping during this time of the year, thieves take the opportunity to steal an unattended package on a doorstep. There are several ways that you can protect yourself from this type of crime. * Schedule the package to arrive when you plan on being home * Ask for a digital notification when the package arrives * Leave... delivery instructions, either on your order or on a note at the front door, to put the package in an inconspicuous area * Ensure your video surveillance is working properly or consider adding video surveillance to your residence See more

Officer of the month for the month of December is Sergeant Robert Carlucci for his incredible work bringing a person in crisis to safety. Patrol officers responded to a barricaded person in crisis. Upon arrival of patrol officers, the person in crisis would not speak to responding officers and requested to speak to Sergeant Robert Carlucci. Sgt. Carlucci was advised of the situation and understanding the severity, made himself available while he was off-duty to assist. Sgt. Carlucci arrived and was able to use his crisis intervention training and personal knowledge of that person to safely get him the help he needed. Congratulations Sarge! #officerofthemonth #harrisonpdny @harrisonnypba #crisisintervention
Wishing everyone a happy and safe Thanksgiving!! If you are traveling, please safeguard your valuables, set the home alarm & lock your car doors.
On 11/16/20, several Harrison Police officers responded to multiple reports ofa young girl, approximately 10 years old, ringing doorbells and walking away. An extensive 2 hour search ended when we found the 10 year old female approximately 2 miles from herfirst reported location. While in the care of our police officers the young female claimed to not know simple information such as full name, age and where she lived. While our officers continued to build a friendship with... her, we continued to exhaust every resource to locate her family. During this process our officers made the young girl feel at home by watching cartoons with her, coloring and showering the young girl with Harrison Police paraphernalia. We finally made some headway when Detective Domenick Gentile entered the investigation. He was able to get, not just her full name and birth date, but we learned that she loves Dr. Pepper, grilled cheese, dominos pizza, has five brothers, a cat and two dogs. Oh, and Detective Gentile was also able to get everything we needed to call the NYPD 52nd precinct who was actively looking for her!! Officers from the 52 quickly responded to HQ with her mother and they were happily reunited. This is one of the many great acts our officers do on a daily basis. The professionalism, compassion and concern was obvious from all the officers involved. The Harrison Police Department made a new friend; she had such a playful personality which we missed just a day later. We hope to see our new friend very soon but we hope she won’t travel alone again. We are grateful for the callers who reported the incident when they realized something was wrong ..."See something say something."
