Congratulations to our good friends at the Hudson Area Library on celebrating five years in their grand Armory home. It is truly an invaluable asset to our community. What's more, their collection and programming are just as glorious as their building - head to hudsonarealibrary.org for more info!

Speak French this Spring! Hudson Hall joins fine artist and teacher Zoe Bellot to bring a foreign language introduction to our littlest students in HCSD ASP. Children will be introduced to the building blocks of the French language with an intuitive, image-based method. They will learn how to build sentences of their own in a fun and interactive way. Vocabulary and grammar will be introduced via images and practiced with games. For more info visit: https://www.hudsoncsd.org/departments-programs//contact-us/ Fridays, 3:15-4pm April 16 - June 11 Kindergarten & 1st Graders. (Free, virtual workshop for HCSD students, registration required)

Join us outside next Tuesday, March 30th for the traveling COVID-19 Tribute Mural, which has traveled throughout the Capital Region and will soon make its way to Hudson Hall. Tuesday, March 23rd marked the one-year anniversary of the first local death attributed to COVID-19. This individual was Waler Robb, former GE executive, local philanthropist, and an individual who dedicated much of his professional career to advancing medical technology. This mural, developed by loca...l artist Rachel Baxter, has traveled around the region from Tuesday, March 23 through Saturday, April 3. Visitors may come by to pay tribute to the lives lost or show gratitude to our everyday heroes over the last 12 months. Special thanks to United Way of the Greater Capital Region (@UnitedWayGCR) who has partnered with the Albany Center Gallery, and local artist Rachel Baxter to create an original work of art in the form of a moveable mural to serve as a visual tribute and travel across Albany, Columbia, Greene, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady and Schoharie Counties.

On view for only two more weeks are @filizsoyak's Breath Monuments and @myronpolenberg's EPHIPHANY: It's The Cracks That Let The Light In. Part of what makes Breath Monuments so moving is the sound piece, Breath Waves, a collaboration between Soyak and Patrick Hameon. Deep-diving into the sound of the breath, the piece aims to provide a sense of peace and solace in a time of stress and unrest. So we invite you to have a seat on a cushion, breathe, find peace and listen to the sound piece Breath Waves this weekend or next!

#WeMakeEvents is an international movement to highlight that the live events sector urgently needs support from local governments to survive the Covid-19 crisis. Entertainment events around the world have been devastated and without major immediate support from national governments the entire supply chain is at risk of collapse. This past year we've had to cancel20performances, 9 community events, 88 workshops, all rentals, and two of our largest fundraisers of the year. Help us spread the word and receivethe support needed by sharing this post today! If you'd like to help the future of the performing arts in Hudson please considermaking a donation to Hudson Hall.
