Our February virtual exhibition is "When it rains, it stops. Photographs by May Meng." May Meng is a New York and Paris based Chinese artist, art educator, photographer, filmmaker, and curator, whose creative and conceptual photography is mixed with her inspirations as an "insider of hearts and outsider of the world." To celebrate the release of NYPL's 125 NYC Books We Love list, we took some of our favorite NYC books on a walk through the Village. We’re finally bringing it back home; here is Planting Stories: The Life of Librarian and Storyteller Pura Belpre right in front of Hudson Park Library! Check out this inspiring picture book biography of Pura Belpre, NYPL's first Puerto Rican librarian who championed bilingual literature. Click the link in the bio for the full list!
In a special storytime dedicated to NYC, Kristy shows us a storytime candle. This tradition started at NYPL many years ago. The candle absorbs all of the magic from all the stories told at storytime, and at the end, hopefully, everyone's wishes come true. (After all, the library is a pretty magical place!) Click the link in the bio!
The Library will remain closed today, December 17th. Cozy up with some ebooks!

While only a small portion of Hudson Park is currently open to patrons so that they can come in and grab their reserved items, we wanted to make sure that their quick trip inside is visually interesting! We enlarged the drawings our patron, local artist @nickgolebiewski , made of neighborhood branches and lined the pathway to the reserves with them! Can you identify all of the branches here? If you want to see if your guesses are correct, click the link in the bio to download a copy of our coloring book e-zine! @ Hudson Park Library
To celebrate #nypl125, we worked with our patron, local artist @nickgolebiewski, on a watercolor exhibition and a coloring book zine featuring the New York Public Library Branches of Lower Manhattan. Click the link in the bio to download your own e-zine! You can also ask us for a print copy when you reserve and pick up your items at Hudson Park!
To celebrate #nypl125, we asked our patron @nickgolebiewski to paint the branch libraries of Lower Manhattan. We have to wait to show off these gorgeous watercolors in person but we decided to start with an online exhibition! Yesterday we posted the first seven libraries of our New York Public Library Branches of Lower Manhattan exhibition; here are the remaining six! #nychistory #lowermanhattan #librariesofinstagram @ Hudson Park Library
We love looking at historical images of Hudson Park's reading room from the #nycdigitalcollections. Here is a #thenandnow recreation of our first floor. Did you know that the poet Marianne Moore worked at Hudson Park while she lived only steps away at 14 St Luke's Place? #nycthenandnow #nypl #greenwichvillage @ Hudson Park Library
Join our Children's Librarian Stevie for STEAM storytime! She will be reading a story and singing songs about COLORS. It also includes an activity you can try at home! Click the NYPL Online Storytime link in our bio.
