Black History Month is an annual celebration of achievements by African Americans and a time for recognizing their central role in U.S. history. In honor of Black History we would like to speak about Sarah Boone. In 1892 she created what we use pretty often, iron boards. Sarah Boone was born a slave, she was one of the first African American women in the U.S to receive a patent. With Boone’s additions, the board featured a narrower and curved design, making it easier to iro...n garments, particularly women’s clothing.
