Our friends over at SERVPRO of North Orange County are recommending you take a peek at your roof today while the sun is out; if an ice dam has formed from our recent mix of ice, rain and temporarily warmer temperatures, this could lead to an even bigger problem for you and your home! "For many of you this morning you make have woken up saying DAMN THAT DAM!. Ice damming is an unfortunate side effect of the weather we have been experiencing this winter. Snow & ice can bu...ild up on your roof, slide down into your gutters or parts of your roof and then push your shingles up in the opposite direction of how they’re supposed to lay. Now take that situation, combined with above freezing temperatures, and that creates an Ice Dam water damage in your home or business. Now that the ice & snow have begun to melt, that water is melting into your home. You’ll likely see dripping onto ceilings, down walls, or around window & door areas. Unfortunately until this snow & ice can be cleared or melted, it will likely continue to leak it. However, I don’t want to leave you feeling hopeless! SERVPRO can still help you! We determine what building materials are wet and if any of them need to be removed or dried. We’ll place necessary drying equipment to ensure that everything is dried to its dry standard. We'd like to pass along the visitation and funeral arrangements for Chief Warrant Officer 2 Daniel Gregory Prial, as well as more information in the 'Comments' section about about how you can make a donation in his memory Danny arrived home to Warwick this morning; please keep his family and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers, as well as those of the two other National Guardsmen who tragically lost their lives last week.
