#tbt to when Charlie was the size of an endive This pic was taken right after my 20 week anatomy scan. I can’t help but look at this and think about the immense changes that have occurred since then; the growing pains of my own metamorphosis into motherhood. I’ve supported many others through this transformation, but now experiencing it myself, it is no joke. Body, mind and spirit implode and then evolve into something new. It is messy, but it is also beautiful. My own transformation has not been easy, but it’s given me a new exhilaration to continue to support people through this special time in life. The techniques I’ve learned as a doula have informed my work as a movement teacher in amazing ways. In these photos I’m using a rebozo to assist mom’s body in letting go a bit and help guide baby into a better position for birth. Pilates is great for maintaining strength and stability in pregnancy, but we have to give the pregnant body support in letting go too! #fbf to me at 34 weeks, doing a short chair workout. I love using the combo chair for the prenatal populationI typically like to keep my pregnant ladies upright for most of their workouts in the last trimester (better for baby’s position and mom’s comfort!) personal side note: I found out the following week that my baby wasn’t in the most ideal position, oh the irony!
