To those who have lost family, friends and loved ones, our hearts and prayers continue to go out to you. In these trying times, it is most evident that the George Floyd murder has sparked a nation to come together and protest against the injustice in our American system. The fight is hard,... complex and it requires focus, understanding and leadership. In the past few months, I can’t help but reflect on my past and present. I remember growing as a kid not having a clue what prejudice was until I experienced it in high school. Growing up, we lived in a very diverse area of Brooklyn. We had a family from Greece a couple houses down, Jewish identified family around the corner and a Chinese identified family up the block. My best friend lived right next door, an Italian American, and for all of us race was never an issue. We were all on the same block; we ate together and played stick ball and hide-n-seek without any issue. Even when some of those families moved, we stayed in touch. It wasn’t until late in junior high school that I experienced the hate some had for the color of my skin. I was spit on, called nigger and made to think that I wasn’t good or smart enough as my white counter parts. I was arrested for standing on school property when my white classmates were told to go home. The murder of George Floyd brought this all back. I am a Black man in America; a father to four very diverse children, a partner to a diverse woman and I have the privilege of this platform as the CEO and EIC of i-Fashion magazine. I have pain from my past and I have a responsibility to elevate the voices and stories of Black, Indigenous, People Of Color designers, MUA’s, models, photographers and friends in the fashion industry. The journey to fix systemic racism is a long one. And I have to believe that if we all continue to do our parts incremental change is possible. Take time to reflect on where you can make that change.

As of this month, May 2020, Covid-19 has caused over 240 thousand deaths worldwide, the unemployment rate is higher than it’s ever been, businesses are struggling or have closed, social distancing is now a Thing and the fashion world as we know it, is at a complete standstill. But there is hope. The number of new cases are dropping, the number of reported deaths per day is lessening and societywell society is doing what it can to get back to a sense of normalcy. A new for...m of normalcy. So what does this look like for the fashion business? I believe it’s going to be a slow comeback not only for the fashion world, but for society as a whole. THIS NEW REALITY has us second-guessing our interaction with people. In the fashion business, the interaction amongst the different groups to collectively present the final product is so critical; it’s very hard to imagine doing the simplest photoshoot via social distancing. Unlike Corporate-America, where zoom or GoTo meeting has aided us with communicating with one another, it’s just not viable with various aspects of fashion. But againThere is hope. Many of my colleagues from different aspects of the fashion world have been taking this downtime to perfect their craft. I hear they are digging deeper into their selected professions and not only finding out how they can perfect their art, but how they can perfect themselves. I encourage all to keep your craft alive within yourselves and come back stronger than you were before this pandemic. Now is the time to figure out what was lacking and have a plan to execute when time permits. My friends, this is no longer a ME world. If you think that the new normalcy is only about what you can do for self, think again. We are going to have to operate more with each other now than ever before if we want to get close to the life we use to have and if that means to continue social distancing so it strengthens the possibility of enjoying a future summer concert or a dinner with close friends, then let’s operate through a lens of hope rather than haste. Thank you so much for your support through these unprecedented times and STAY SAFE. ORDER YOUR COPY AT WWW.I-FASHIONMAG.COM

Fashion Week...Two weeks ago we were running around show to show... The buzz of new creations, the transformation of venues into spaces filled with energy, photographers looking to capture all of it through their unique lens, models showcasing a diversity of garments that were skillfully created just for New York’s finest runways and the networking and community building. We schedule the coverage of our shows with purpose and intention, making sure to capture the finest inc...luding those new to the game and making sure to also support our friends who are working to level up. This takes. Once we have the various line ups, we conduct a preliminary interview with producers to understand their vision and get a rundown of participating designers, then we research the designers and set up individual shoots. Fashion Week shows were happening all over the New York area. Designers and models traveled from all over the world to the epicenter of fashion. We did make it to several shows in the Jersey and Philly area but most of the fanfare was in New York. Malena Belafonte’s Journey Fashion Festival was an absolutely amazing performance that captured the complexity of the fashion world. Designers, artists, performers, dancers and photographers all came together to celebrate Fashion. The event took place in an open loft space at 14th and 10th Avenue. This open space was perfect for the creativity that emerged from her Journey castAnd then there was that red dress.. See page 44 i-Fashion Magazine was there to support and cover many Designer shows this season such as the eccentricity of Phoebe English or the sophistication of Carolina Herrera, Gabriela Hearst, Rodarte, and runway shows like Style, Society and Couture. We also took a 3300 mile leap across the North Atlantic Ocean to London Fashion Week. Our photographer Frank Rivers, had an amazing time meeting new designers, models, producers and even had time to take on the sites and sneak in a quick photoshoot. You do not want to miss all of Franks’ adventures. We always feel the best part about this is time of year is meeting new creative talent, building relationships and having people showcase their gifts in our magazine. We’ve set the standard that page after page must be compelling, informative and absolutely fashionably consistent. Thanks for all your support in continuing making 2020 your best fashion year ever. Fashion Weekwe love this time a year. Get your copy at www.i-fashionmag.com If 2019 is any prelude to what 2020 is going to be, i-Fashion Magazine and all of you, our supporters, are in for a special year. It was about this same time last year when we made the decision to elevate our brand and then started the process of looking more deeply at our strategic plan, ultimately revamping the magazine. The questions we asked ourselves were; Who are we? Who are our clients? What is the message we are trying to convey...? All of those questions are answered in this 2020 issue. Beauty Through the Ages is an issue that covers the diversity in fashion in terms of craft, age, gender, culture, race and talents. Personally, I am humbled by this i-Fashion team creation because so rarely do we witness the nuances and complexity in the fashion world. In this issue, you will read about Eustice Collins, an admirable model who re-entered the role of modeling at age 54, and states I came back to the industry with a vengeance and took no prisoners. Mr. Collins is an incredible inspiration. There’s a great inspirational story about the perseverance & health journey of model Nekesha King where she clearly shows that things arent always what they seem. Also, read about Dr. Lauren Keir Simmons and her Metamorphosis Health Coaching Program program where she works with men and women from all walks of life to create customized health plans that meet the unique goals of her clients. Pay close attention to our cover model Janis Wilkins and designer Katelyn Zhang. The image speaks volumes to me and I wonder what goes through your mind when you look at it? We are starting the year with a solid, professional team, our own photography studio and an established luxury resort wear line @lantonioresort. Our goal this year is to bring back an element of fashion that we believe is totally overlooked and that is the creative to business aspect. Shows are great, photo-shoots are awesome, but truly getting your product recognized and revealed to a broader audience is imperative. I would like to thank all the contributors and supporters who chose to start a productive year with us and look forward to your utmost success. Please continue to follow us @i.fashionmag and @lanotnioresort

Responsibility, Accountability & SustainabilityThis is the creed we live by at i-Fashion. We couldn’t achieve anything, at any level, without taking these three words very seriously. As the EIC, I am totally responsible for the message my team and I project to the world. That’s why I selected the individuals that I bring into my circle. It’s not just a matter of agreeing to everything, but understanding our shared visions, and individual strengths and challenges. I’m menti...oning this because we have come to a point where we are being held accountable for the content of each issue. There is a message that we are trying to get across and that is Fashion is an art form and a Performance; the design of clothing and the profound collaboration of everything. Fashion conscious individuals want to know, NO, excuse me, NEED to know, why is that final product compelling and what is it doing for the greater good. I come across some things on social media that clearly were done without full thought and wonder, WHY?? This is why I continuously challenge my team to do better and think about challenging the status quo because at the end of the day, our growth and obtained knowledge is what makes us who we are. In this issue, we spread our wings and explore Ireland with husband and wife photography team Kelly and Kalina Schneider. Their compelling story of how they got together and share the love of photography is remarkable. See the production video here; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E0qQP-Jr2Co On the other side of the world, our travel and leisure editor took us to Dominican Republic and attended Dominicana Moda 2019, where some of the brightest and talented, designers showcased their talents. Coming back to the U.S., we attended LA Fashion Week, which was one of the best productions of fashion I’ve seen utilizing local and overseas designers. I want to give a big thank you to designers Richard Q, LLeya P, Lady Hunter Lingerie, Corey Rogers, Zianna Kaoutar, Katelyn Zhang for your lovely garments. As always, thank you for your continued support. Lloyd A. Crawford Editor-n-Chief i-Fashion Magazine Purchase your copy at www.i-fashionmag.com
