As per @tmz_tv, Tekashi 6ix9ine plans to do something very un-snitch-like -- after all the snitching he just did -- and that's to reject the witness protection program as soon as he's a free man again. The federal trial that saw the rapper sing like a canary for 3 days wraps up Thursday as prosecutors and defense attorneys give closing arguments. Tekashi pointed fingers and named names of his old gang members (and other celebs too), but sources close to him tell us he will f...orgo any participation in witness protection -- and will instead opt for a life of fame. That might sound like a death wish, considering how many people he rolled over on during his testimony -- but we're told Tekashi's still itching to make new music, and believes he can pick up where he left off. DO YOU THINK #6ix9ine WILL BE ABLE TO PICK UP WHERE HE LEFT OFF AFTER HIS RELEASE #law #lawyer #criminaldefense #criminal #brooklyn #bushwick #bedstuy #flatbush #nyc #manhattan #attorney #justice #lawandorder #trialattorney #lawschool #rap #hiphop #tmz #50cent

In 1991, @isaacwrightjr was tried in a Somerset County courtroom and convicted under New Jersey’s drug kingpin law. Wright represented himself at trial and, while serving a Life sentence in prison, he continued to study the law and oversee his own appeal. Over the next several years, Wright also worked as a prison paralegal and won the freedom and reduced sentences of over 20 inmates, many serving life sentences. Some of his legal arguments made new law that lawyers now arg...ue and courts follow. After fighting his own case for years @isaacwrightjr finally got all charges dismissed. Wright’s remarkable journey to gain his freedom and his legal talents are slated to be depicted in a TV series based upon his life and produced by @50cent . He began law school in 2004 and graduated from Saint Thomas University School of Law in 2007. The law school renamed its cafeteria in his name. Wright then passed the New Jersey Bar in 2008, but spent the next nine years being investigated by the New Jersey Bar’s Committee on character before being granted admission to the bar by the New Jersey Supreme Court on September 27, 2017, where he was officially sworn in as a licensed attorney. I went to law school for one reason and one reason only, says Wright. To slay giants for a price. And if the giant is big enough and the cause is important enough, I’ll do it for free, especially when it involves helping those who cannot help themselves. [6ix9ine] was in court to testify against two of his former confidants, Anthony Ellison, 31, and Aljermiah Mack, 33, in a sweeping racketeering and firearms case prosecutors brought against the gang last year. For hours last week, Mr. Hernandez walked the jury through the inner workings of Nine Trey, a prison gang with roots on Rikers Island in the 1990s. In doing so, the rapper may have decimated any remaining good will he had left in the rap industry as he became both a pu...nch line and a pariah the subject of intense online vitriol from his onetime peers, who expressed astonishment at the amount of information Mr. Hernandez had provided... Mr. Hernandez pleaded guilty in January to racketeering conspiracy and eight other charges. He faces a minimum of 47 years in prison. If his cooperation is successful, prosecutors agreed earlier this year to lobby for a lighter sentence. @nytimes #criminaldefense #attorney #law #6ix9ine #newyork #nyc #brooklyn #manhattan #nytimes #hiphop #lawyer #criminallawyer

It is an historic day! From the Governor's release below: "Criminal Justice Reform: New York continues its commitment to a fairer criminal justice system with ...the inclusion of the following reforms in the FY 2020 Enacted Budget: Reforming Bail and Pretrial Detention Reform: As part of a groundbreaking plan to modernize New York's bail system, cash bail will be eliminated for misdemeanors and non-violent felonies, alongside a new requirement that police officers must issue desk appearance tickets to most people charged with misdemeanors and Class E felonies, rather than making a custodial arrest. Together, these reforms will ensure approximately 90 percent of people charged, but not yet convicted of a crime, are not sitting in jail awaiting trial solely because they do not have the economic resources to meet bail. Transforming the Discovery Process: In order to overhaul New York's antiquated discovery process by which prosecutors were able to withhold basic evidence until the day the trial begins, legislation included in the FY 2020 Enacted Budget will require that both prosecutors and defendants share all information in their possession well in advance of trial. Defendants will also be allowed the opportunity to review whatever evidence is in the prosecution's possession prior to pleading guilty to a crime. In addition, the legislation will ensure that victims and witnesses are protected from intimidation and other forms of coercion by providing prosecutors with the ability to petition a court for a protective order, shielding identifying information when necessary to ensure the safety of witnesses and the sanctity of the judicial process. Ensuring the Right to a Speedy Trial: Under New York State law, misdemeanors are required to be resolved within 90 days and felonies within 180 days, however, the average length of pretrial detention is far longer. To address this injustice, the FY 2020 Enacted Budget includes legislation that requires courts to take a proactive role in advising litigants on how time will be charged. When appropriate, courts will also inquire into the government's readiness to proceed to trial and require that the government file all appropriate paperwork before a statement of readiness is accepted, ensuring that the government is not able to proceed to trial until the defendant has been provided with all of the information in the case against them."

NY Post: Lawyers for Joaquin El Chapo Guzman have booze on the brain tweeting out a photo of a pistol-shaped bottle of tequila as jurors continued deliberating the alleged drug kingpin’s fate. For after trial, the account for the Balarezo Law firm wrote in the tweet on Wednesday just before 11 a.m. as jurors entered their third day of deliberations.
