For Women's History Month, IMPACCT Brooklyn is celebrating two of the many fantastic women who make our past, present, and future work possible at linktre.ee/IMPACCTBrooklyn. First up is Sharon Haberer, the Director of Social Services for IMPACCT Brooklyn. Ms. Haberer directly oversees Gibb Mansion while serving as an advisor on our various supportive housing initiatives and developments. Beyond working with IMPACCT Brooklyn, Ms. Haberer has had a long and accomplished career..., spanning several decades and disciplines. Second is Representative Shirley Chisholm, the first Black congresswoman (1968). Representative Chisholm representated New York State in the U.S. House of Representatives for seven terms. She went on to run for the 1972 Democratic nomination for the presidencybecoming the first major-party African-American candidate, as well as the second woman, to do so. Throughout her political career, Chisholm fought for education opportunities and social justice. You can learn about both of these extraordinary women at linktre.ee/IMPACCTBrooklyn.
