En 1856 el químico Henry Perkin descubre que por la oxidación de la anilina se obtiene un colorante púrpura y éste será el comienzo de la era de los colorantes sintéticos que permitió tener colores más saturados. El primer colorante sintético que creó #Perkin fue el color malva o mauveína (púrpura de Perkin), fue prácticamente un accidente pues en realidad se encontraba tratando de sintetizar la quinina, utilizada para tratar la malaria o el paludismo. El textil que te presentamos el día de hoy es un claro ejemplo de la impronta de esta situación, los colores son fuertes y brillantes obtenidos de los colorantes sintéticos.
