First Half Marathon! @ Jacob Riis Park Rockaway Beach
A few more pictures from the Annapurna Circuit. I'd caption these: Dont forget to smile as you blaze your own trail
Innate I sometimes take a little heat for doing what I do. I have even been laughed at. Thats ok. My reaction is to just keep going. In my past I may have become a part of the gossip and sabotage too. I'm not above that. So I can understand where the criticism comes from. Thankfully, we can all leave that way of living behind...if we really want to. And when we do, we can achieve so so much.... Here's the thing: Maybe the proof is not in what I say, but in what I do. In the past 4 years I've cycled across America, crossed the Atlantic by ship, rode trains across America, hiked the Inca Trail, visited Machu Picchu 3 times, trekked the Annapurna Circuit, met and meditated with a guru, married a wonderful woman, moved countries, started a business, bought my first new car, earned more money than I earned in the previous 10 years, I've dived in a crocodile pool, visited 5 new countries, raised money for a cancer charity, studied philosophy to a fairly high level, overcome a fear of flying (and a level of anxiety in other walks of life that was crippling), I've written a book, maintained a blog, driven across America, been of help to a lot of people, and seen places and things that I previously didnt even have the capacity to dream about. 4 years. 4 years ago I could barely muster the motivation to get out of bed. My world was a dark and negative place; seen through a dirty filter. So what has changed? Me: that's what has changed. I learned to breath. I learned to let go - to stop the spiral of negative thoughts which can hold us back so much. I started living one day at a time. And I embraced meditation and positivity. Simple innate qualities which are within us all. I have no control over how others react to what I do, but I can say this much...I have never been so happy. This picture perfectly encapsulates everything that I stand for, and for that I love it. I'm in a place which I imagined and then worked hard to get to, and to be mindful enough to fully appreciate and enjoy. What a blessing. And it was attainable just by learning to breath and be myself. Theres no doubt I'll keep going! There is too much more to see and enjoy
