Screening at Noble Showroom, Dec 20th. Director’s Statement: Much has been represented about the nonviolent response of the Tibetan Buddhists and the exodus of their leader, the Dalai Lama, in 1959 after the Chinese took over their capital, Lhasa. Most films on the subject have been from the viewpoint of political figures and celebrities, while stories of what happened to ordinary Tibetans who became part of the exiled community are seldom heard. When these voices disappear, ...so does the connection to the past, which impedes our capacity to make sense of the present. Rituals of Resistance is a personal film that highlights the perspectives of ordinary Tibetans in exile and their stories of resistance across three generations. // Special screening and get together with filmmakers Tenzin Phuntsog & Joy Dietrich | @ritualsofresistance | get-tickets button on our bio.

Noble Showroom completed 1 year this last July #incausaatnoble A special collaboration with great friend and supporter @jordancolon Where we’ve been able to rightfully display the Indigenous artwork, test numerous new productions and hold many special functions. ... Also taking the time to thank: Josh Colon @transformingspace for the ongoing fabrications of our spaces! Good @tseten19 who’s been so dearly running the store. And everyone involved in building all of this together ! //Showroom hours are still Friday-Sunday but new fall-holiday schedule coming soon. @ Greenpoint Historic District
