From the District Office and other administration at IRCSD, please take the time to fill out this survey, especially if you have students in the district. How we will be able to hold events in the theater will be a part of consideration with the reopening plan. We all have questions regarding the complexities of returning to school in the fall. While it is certain that we cannot simply go back to business as usual, we are currently weighing all of our options so that we can c...ontinue to provide a quality education for each and every one of our students while ensuring the safety of our entire school community. To that end, your input is very important to us! Your participation in this survey is voluntary, which means you do not have to take this survey if you do not want to. Your responses are anonymous and there is no way to connect your responses to your name. (Note: We cannot finalize any plans until Governor Cuomo and/or the NYS Education Department (NYSED) provide final guidance. Members of our school district and other local leaders are members of the NYSED Reopening Schools Task Force", and we will utilize Task Force findings as well as state and local input to guide our district-level planning.) As important as the State Task Force is to the process, the feelings of our families and staff are equally important. We ask that you please take a few minutes to share your thoughts with us on reopening Indian River Central Schools. Input from all of these sources will help us develop a plan reflective of our entire school community.

Our next Class of 2020 Senior Feature is Kayleigh Ronas. She is active in many performing arts activities at Indian River, that include Chorus, Concert Band, Dance, the Fall Play, Jazz Rock, Wind Ensemble, the Spring Musical, Theatre, Thespians Honor Society and Dance at In Motion School of Dance. She plans to attend SUNY Oneonta with a dietet...ics major and dance minor. In her own words: Beginning to dance at a young age taught me the importance of connecting to others in ways more powerful than words. Having this interest in dance has motivated me to learn about other areas of performing, including musical theatre and chorus. Being a part of the spring musicals has especially shaped my personality, as I have become more in tune with who I am and more confident on stage. Performing has been a huge piece of my high school career that has proven to be more valuable than even some academic courses. Mrs. Moore has truly inspired me throughout high school with not only her dance instruction, but also her kindness and charisma that she puts forth into every lesson. She has always encouraged me to do more than I think I am capable of, and I’m so grateful that she has been a part of my performing arts experience.
