During our extended day hours from 3:00-5:20pm, we revisit meaningful projects from the day and sometimes highlight a project guided by one of our educators. There's been lots of color talk at school, like: who has a favorite color that matches their friend's, or making paper airplane gifts using the colors their friends "love." A few children said they liked "rainbow" or to "mix all the colors together" to see what it might make, and others were certain they "only loved" pin...k or red or blue. Today we gathered around to welcome and comfort a new community member at school. We shared pictures of our faces and pointed in excitement, labeling our names and the names of our friends - helping our Hebrew speaking friend make salient connections.
