This is an example of when chemicals and/ or acids are used for a long time on copper drain lines. They will weaken the sides of the lines and produce leaks. Replacing the line is the only option at that point.

Upon arrival at my customer's home. The storm drainage system was backing up all around their home. A previous plumber was telling them it was going to take alot of work and money to get everything corrected. We excavated and exposed the existing storm line at the curb (first photo). Found that a previous "plumber" had removed both bubbles and installed too small of stone causing the storm drainage system to back up. We tested the system (photo#2) to ensure the rest of the storm system was draining properly. This is a drain line in a home which had some issues. In the first two pics you will see that there was some improperly install PVC drain line (white pipe) and a crack on the cast iron fitting at the waste stack. When we started the job I quickly found out that there were a few more things to be done but no worries for our customer we stuck with our up front price and made all the necessary repairs. This included installing properly sized pipe, proper fitting, and proper pitch of the line.

Double sewer lateral repair. This is a very rare occurrence in western New York. My customer had waste water backing up in the basement and we could not open the sewer line. When we started to dig, we found that the house had two separate sewer lines. One for each side of the property. The sewer lines coming from the house had separated both lines needed new PVC sewer line, trap, and vent. We completed they task and now they have no more worries with waste water backing up in their basment.
