The SAT and ACT have announced aggressive schedules for the end of Summer and the fall. If social distancing prevents taking the test in person, students are going to be able to take the tests from home. Remote one-on-one tutoring is a perfect solution for this situation. We are offering free remotely proctored diagnostics, after which (if you like) a tutor will meet with you for an hour to discuss the choice and show you how well out approach works remotely. As we all deal with the disruption of our daily lives due to the current crisis, we share the anxiety and stress in our lives, the many challenges, but also the opportunities that come with adapting and rising to the moment. This is certainly true for families with high school students whose education, family and social lives have changed dramatically so quickly. One thing we believe we can assume, however, is that while the process of applying to college may be in the near ...term altered, it will inexorably move forward. We all know that the March, April and May SAT and ACT tests have been cancelled. The June, July and August tests have not been as of now and, hopefully, by the fall we will all be returning to a semblance of normal in our lives. It may be that some schools will make submitting test scores as part of the application process optional. That does not mean that a school will not consider a test score as part of their evaluation of a student or that test scores will not be considered as an element of financial aid. Infiniva Tutoring has transitioned to conducting our tutoring for our current students online and will continue to do so for current and new students for as long as needed. Even when it is safe again to meet with students we will continue to offer online tutoring as an option to every student. We are using a professional quality, very robust program specifically designed for online teaching and tutoring. We continue to offer our free, no obligation practice tests every weekend using this online classroom solution rather than at the University of Buffalo. Also, as schools have implemented online education for their students and families have faced adjusting to this home schooling, we have received a number of calls regarding tutoring for specific subjects. We can also tutor for many subjects online to help students successfully complete the current school year. Infiniva is responding to the Coronavirus crisis by immediately offering online tutoring to all our students, using a professional solution specifically designed for teaching and tutoring online. We are also transitioning to offering our free, no obligation practice tests to students with an online meeting app which students can use to log into a virtual classroom to take the tests - with the test proctor able to monitor each student to ensure they are complying with the ru...les, keeping to the section time limits, etc. just as they do now in person. We know that the April ACT and May SAT tests have been cancelled and will provide updates as soon as they are available regarding both tests schedules on our website and Facebook page. Big Changes Coming! If you're on top of things, you may be aware that the ACT is breaking completely new ground in the Fall of 2020. Beginning in September, students will be able to take one section in order to improve their superscores (the combined highest scores across all testing dates). The trend over the last few years has seen a great increase in the use of the superscore, so this is just another step in that direction. However, it's not exactly the easy new opportuni...ty it's cracked up to be. There's a big catch. In order to take individual sections, the student must take the test on a computer. The facilities that can accommodate this are likely to be limited and the demand could be high (we think it will be). With so many changes already here and more on the way, we've been working hard to continue to get the best results for our students. As our name shows, from our very founding in 2004, we have believed that students have Infinite potential and that it's our job to put them in position to unlock it.
