2020 Quarantine should not keep you from making strides with your fitness and health. . . These were, in fact, taken about 9 months apart. In that time, there were a few vacations, LOTS of social-work functions, parties, celebratory occasions, festivals, you name it. Life continued, but one thing remained constant. Nutrition and training/activity level stayed about 85% on. We ALWAYS strive for sustainability in fitness/ wellbeing and our day-to-day life. .... . Now, Imagine where you could be by summer time- and if not by summer-by end of this crazy year! . . to my wonder friend and client for being awesome and allowing me to praise her efforts See more

Took fitness outside a bit in between clients and my own strength work.

Who doesn’t love playing outside? We’ve been so fortunate to have so many gorgeous days this season. And though we are finally getting back to gym routine, I’m planning to continue some more yoga outdoors as long as I can. Felt pretty great having water splashing on us while doing some flow #namaste #namaslay

Feeling fortunate to have been able to have more free time lately due to the #ChinaVirus. But, that also comes with a cost. Just like the rest of my fit/active friends, I’ve also been feeling the dire need to get back to the gym to have some routine. Outdoor work outs can be good but not ideal with weather/ temperature/ equipment. . . . Wonder how many others feel the same and can’t wait to be back... and how many are now too scared/ complacent/ excuse ridden to go into a gym?

It’s a crazy time right now with everything shutting down. I’m on board with extra care being taken to quarantine, as grocery stores and busy commercial gyms ar...e indeed 1000X riskier places to visit. However, sitting around and working on progressing our nations #1 obesity issues will only make thing worse. This is why I’m extending my private fitness training and nutrition coaching services for those individuals looking to continue caring for their health in the next few weeks of this social hibernation. PM for details.

PSA: .Let’s talk delicious pizza . . If you can’t enjoy a slice, two or even 3 on occasion without beating yourself up for it, how do you call that balance? If you’re training hard 4-5 days/wk/ staying on the higher end of active, that pizza won’t stick. .... @stephanpastis #fitness #fitnessmotivation #bodybuilding #physique #figure #strength #conditioning #trainsmarter #practicemakesperfect #practicewhatyoupreach #strong #egoaside #hypertrophy #muscle #nutrition #intensity #lululemon #lululemonaddict #timeundertension #lightweightbaby #earnyourgoal #calusyourmind . . . . #in_fitness

I think this basically boils down to how responsible we are as individuals. If there’s a goal in mind, all a profession can do is lay down the groundwork/ help make a program/a plan. But ultimately the actual work and how much time and effort you’re willing to put forth in attaining YOUR goal, is on you. . . . .... This of how far you could get, in a week, month, year- if you were to start sticking to plan today! . . . . . See more

#truth. #plus wouldn’t you want to know how much you’re budgeting/saving? It may even allow you a bit of cushion. Think about that $

For those of you who’ve been asking and ready to jump on the training, strengthening, reshaping your body band wagon, just realize that you’re not going to get too far without following certain nutrition and rest protocols. You think you’re ready to put your body through metabolically strenuous activity, yet unwilling to do the homework necessary to maximize the result. That just won’t add up and will leave you and your coach/trainer pretty unsatisfied in the end. Be ready to... #upyourgame. . . . . . @liftrunbang See more

Not accurate at all. That doesn't mean it's a useless number though, it's still fine to get an estimate of energy Fitness watches use generic equations to work out calories burned. A recent systematic review looked at 11 fitness watches (including Fitbit, Apple Watch & Garmin). It showed that these watches are MASSIVELY inaccurate. We're talking about hundreds of calories wrong Even the most 'accurate' tracker had an error rate of -21% to +14%. That means if it told you that ...your calorie burn was 2000 calories in a day it could be underestimating or overestimating with readings of 1580 - 2420. That is a HUGE range, and if your calorie burn was actually 2000 in a day but you ate 2420 thinking that's your maintenance calories... you'd gain weight very quickly, or the opposite - you'd be pretty hungry I know a lot of people enjoy seeing how many calories they burn in a workout, and me telling you that number is wrong is devastating... BUT I want to say it's actually not, and that number is still useful. If one day you do a workout and your fitbit says you burned 300 calories, that number is wrong. The next day you do a workout, and it says you burned 500 calories, that number is also wrong... but you know that on the second day you did a harder workout and you did burn more calories. It might not be the right number, but it's still a number you can use as a measurement of energy used I'm not against fitness trackers, but here's my advice: don't use them to tell you how many calories to eat, or eating back calories through exercise. Use a calorie calculator to do that! Yes it's still an estimate, but a more accurate one, and you can monitor your progress on that number to see if you need to eat more or less calories. As a way to track steps, sleep, and things like that - fitness watches are cool. It's a nice way of seeing ''hey I've only done 3000 steps today, maybe I should go for a little walk''. Those are healthy habits that I encourage, and fitness watches can endorse those. The only part that doesn't have support is the calorie element @tea.to.triceps #fitness #fitnessmotivation #bodybuilding #physique #figure #practicemakesperfect #practicewhatyoupreach
