"the good old days" of sign painting, in kensington, uk. if they built ladders back then like they do today (roughly one foot per step), then this brave lad is on a 30' ladder. i like the apron, especially.

it was in the late 70's when i met francis gaumond, a second generation sign painter here in nny. he was getting up there in age and didn't get up there to letter office windows anymore. but he had a cool trick of reverse painting letters on clear polyester and sticking that to the glass instead. here is one of those jobs, still looking quite new even after over 40 years! you can see the hand-cut edge of the decal film in this close up. guess they don't make 'em like that anymore!

we're replacing the rally stripes on this 'vette, and all i can think of is my 5 year old grandson's probable reaction- 'look, it's bumblebee!' (okay, it was my first reaction, too.)

repairs to automobiles is a big business and we do a lot of repairs to painted pinstriping that goes with them. we replace stripes on fenders and doors when the car is repainted locally. so we see a lot of different approaches to striping and especially to the little decorative scrolls some cars have at either the front or back or both. these two repainted pinstripes from yesterday and today show a couple variations from the simple to the complex. i kinda liked the top one, which was originally done in florida where the car is licensed.

took a little bit longer than expected, but eventually it all works out. new barbecue restaurant downtown watertown. and yet another beautiful day, too.

they say, 'less is more.' partial wraps have the benefits of a complete wrap but cost a whole lot less! handled online, this project originated 10 time zones away. and thanks to our service men and women.

new lettering and graphics for this ambulance. there's also a color change here, swapping red stripes for dark blue and dove blue wrapping vinyls. not an inexpensive project, it needed some vinyl removal and clean up that took more than a day. this part will take a couple days as well. first responders rock!
