Here’s some food for thought! Have you had a blueberry brain-boost today?! #inspiredhealthgroup repost from @lowdogmd Blueberries are usually at the top of any list of brain-boosting foods, and with good reason. According to a new study, a single dose of polyphenols in blueberries can improve cognitive performance in middle-aged adults. Researchers gave 35 subjects aged 43 to 59 a drink containing the equivalent of one cup of wild blueberries or a placebo drink on t...wo occasions. Subjects then completed cognitive tasks and had blood drawn at regular intervals for eight hours after each treatment. In the two hours after consuming the drink, those in the blueberry group showed improvement in cognitive function compared to the placebo. The blueberry drink also seemed to positively impact metabolism. Great incentive to add blueberries to your shopping cart! #mondaymotivation #nutrition #brainfood #blueberry #foodforthought #wny #orchardpark #eastaurora #buffalo #familypractice #wellness
