Last night, there was a mind-opening event that offered a first look at the New Museum's virtual reality exhibition. The artists presented their pieces and had conversations with the audience. One topic discussed was the use of virtual reality to treat medical conditions, such as post-traumatic stress disorder. Once again, the line between medicine and art was blurred. The future of healthcare involves reaching out to the disenfranchised, and EXTREMELY inexpensive virtual... reality like this is another tool in the doctor's toolbox to accomplish this goal.
