In these trying times, we remain incredibly #grateful for so many in our dedicated health care community who heard the call and stepped up! From the fantastic f...aculty members who volunteered to launch our Telehealth service, to our IT and EHR teams who are making so much happen so quickly, to our staff who are working so hard to support our mission, to our students who are asking how they can help (even during spring break!), to our alumni who are reaching out with wise words from the front lines we are inspired by all of you, and we'll be sharing the stories that reflect so well on all of us. #COVID19 #StaySafeStayHome #AdvancingDentistryTransformingLives See more

Thanks to the efforts of so many of our faculty, staff, and administrators, our Telehealth service is up and running addressing the urgent care needs of New Y...orkers and helping to minimize visits to hospitals and urgent care facilities at this critical time. We salute our team of faculty and staff/administrators from Clinic Operations/Patient Care Services, Technology & Informatics Services, Compliance & Safety, Dental Health Informatics/EHR, and Clinical Affairs. Patients with dental emergencies should call 212-998-9660 to access our Telehealth service. See more

Family members and colleagues at NYU Langone have been keeping me apprised of the urgent need for PPE. So when I was contacted by a team from NYU Langone, I ju...mped at the opportunity to lend a hand, putting my 3D printing skills and equipment from my lab in the Department of Biomaterials to work! I did not have many printers, but I got creative in an effort to maximize the number of units/parts I could produce from the lab, and now even from my apartment, printing day and night. I am 3D printing the face shield and strap lock components around the clock and coordinating with the NYU Langone team, led by Dr. Lionnet, who is coordinating with student volunteers to assemble the full face shield which is then delivered to hospitals around the city. If anyone is in the area and has access to a 3D printer and wants to help out, please let me know. Every little bit helps. "My Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery training at NYULMC, Bellevue, and the Manhattan VA medical systems has helped prepare me for these unprecedented times. I was a... part of the NYU system during both Hurricane Sandy and the Ebola outbreak, each of which brought their own frightening changes to our daily lives as healthcare providers. It was incredible to see our healthcare community work together so cohesively and fluidly in extreme times of need. As COVID-19 continues to tighten its grip on our ever-shrinking medical resources, it will be those same healthcare providers that step up to help mitigate the damage. As oral surgeons, our responsibility is to take care of those patients in acute need so that our fellow emergency medicine colleagues don't have to. Let's use our experience and expertise to help flatten the curve by keeping patients out of ERs and Urgent Care clinics. Be smart, wear PPE, screen patients prior to having them enter your office/clinic, and use your best judgment. If your office is closed, then consider donating unused gloves and masks to help protect those in hospitals that are still working. Only through teamwork and communication will we defeat our latest threat." Dr. Lee Kojanis, DDS '14, providing emergency care at Premier Oral Surgery Group in New Jersey #COVID19 #StaySafeStayHome #AdvancingDentistryTransformingLives
