The Inwood Academy drama program asks students to read, discuss, and respond with their own writing to plays addressing relevant issues in our community. In some cases, students will perform plays around sensitive subject matter for their peers, and these performances will be followed by open facilitated conversations. Students will also learn from guest teaching artists about different aspects of a career in theater. #washingtonheights #inwood #manhattan #WaHI

Our instructional staff has been spending the day preparing in-person for our students’ return to the building next week, and the joy is palpable, even from 6 feet away. Nothing like a lighthearted bingo game to break the ice! ;) #inpersonlearning #atlonglast

We are proud to be a predominately Hispanic school, and we are excited for all that is in store for our upper Manhattan community. Please, please fill out your #2020Census today and #voteearly to care for our collective future.

Happy Indigenous Peoples' Day from Inwood Academy! What better way to celebrate than with this student persona poem where Christopher Columbus delves the depths of colonialism for us. As educators and leaders, we are very interested in telling and retelling our history until it is one that truly values all lives. So enjoy your day off school, and remember to #VoteEarly! NOTE: Our Family Support Center will remain closed tomorrow for staff professional development. We will resume on Wednesday, October 14 with student reorientation for phase II remote learning.
