One week to go! On Sunday, December 6, 2020, the Irvington Historical Society will be hosting its next ZOOM video presentation, entitled Women’s Rights Goes to the Hoops: The Story Behind the Triumphal Irvington High School Girls’ Basketball Team. This presentation will be a panel discussion among Irvington Basketball Coach Gina Maher, two of her former All-Star Players BJ (Toolan) Constantine and Kathy Behrens and former coach/teacher/team photographer Carol Dyer. The p...anel members will discuss how the Irvington High School Girls’ Basketball Team -- and women’s sports in general -- developed after the advent of Title 9 in 1972, the reasons for the extraordinary success of the Lady Bulldogs, the role that sport has played in their lives and the impact the Irvington High School Girls’ Basketball team has had on Irvington.
