Come join us at the cemetery in Cadiz this Sunday at Noon for the huge event of the year featuring a dedication and unveiling of the new historic sign for the cemetery will be revealed! As a part of the event folks will be telling the stories of the people of Cadiz right at their graves, horse drawn wagon rides from the cemetery to the Howe Prescott House where more folks will be telling stories of the people of Cadiz, a demonstration of how they used to make roofing shingles, and much more! It starts at 12PM with a picnic and music!

Former County Legislator McElfresh will be giving a talk on unusual and little-known facts about Cattaraugus County on ...Sept. 3, Thursday, at 7 pm at the Miner's Cabin located at 9 Pine Street, Franklinville. Light refreshments will be offered at the conclusion of his presentation All are welcome, and there is no charge. Please plan to join us for an hour or so this next Thursday, Sept 3. See more

Who do YOU think YOU are? The Ischua Valley Historical Society will be holding their annual picnic at the Miner's Cabin at 6 p.m. On Thursday, July 2. The topic... of discussion will be Who Do You Think You Are which deals with DNA and using it for genealogical purposes. The Miner's Cabin is located at 9 Pine Street in Franklinville. Bring your own table service and a dish to pass for the picnic. Bring a lawn chair, if the weather permits, the picnic will be held out of doors! Meetings are open to the public.

The IVHS would personally like to thank all of the dedicated volunteers for helping pull off such an awesome event and also we would like to thank the attendees for coming to the event this afternoon, I think we all had a lot of fun despite the rain!
