Who Is The Lord? Part 5 - Lessons from Exodus - Gregg Schader - March 28, 2021 - Exodus 11 God continues to reveal Himself through the plagues sent on Egypt - here He is seen to be the victorious God. The Israelites had been in Egypt for 400 years. There was no person who could deliver them. They were helpless to free themselves from their oppression. The Lord Himself brings about their freedom. In doing so, he also renders their oppressor powerless. Pharaoh has been utterly... crushed. We too were powerless to overcome sin and death. Until Christ came. Through His death and ressurection, we are freed - Satan has been rendered powerless - Christ has crushed His enemy.

Who Is The Lord? Part 4 - Lessons from Exodus - Gregg Schader - March 21, 2021 - Exodus 9:13-10:29 The Lord continues to show there is no other like Him as the plagues strike the Egyptians. The plagues of hail, locust and darkness are like nothing before (or since). While His power is demonstrated clearly, His mercy is also seen. A warning is given to the Egyptians - to those who would heed the word of the Lord, a refuge from the destruction of the hail could be found. ... We have God's wonders recorded for us so that we might believe. He provides His mercy to us, if we would heed the Word of the Lord. He seeks to bring us out of darkness into His light.

Who Is The Lord? Part 3 - Lessons from Exodus - Gregg Schader - March 14, 2021 - Exodus 9:1-12 In the fifth and sixth of the plagues, God continues to provide an answer to Pharaoh as to who He is. In the plague which killed the Egyptian's livestock, the Egyptian's god of protection offered no protection. In the plague of the boils, their gods offered no cure. The Lord God is the only true source of protection. He has equipped us with the full armor. The Great Physician is also able to cure the most fatal disease of all - that due to our sin. He alone can cure. Not only is He able to cure, He was willing to do so.

Who Is The Lord? Part 2 - Lessons from Exodus - Gregg Schader - March 7, 2021 - Exodus 8:16-32 In this passage, Egypt is beset with a plague of gnats followed by one of flies. Again, the Lord has shown superiority over their gods. They have become defiled and there is nothing they can do to make themselves clean. While the magicians recognize the finger of God here, they still do not subject themselves to God. Pharaoh, seeing control slip away, tries to negotiate. But he has... nothing to offer. God offers us cleansing- and it is the only way to become clean. But we need to recognize Him, subjecting ourselves to Him. He has set the terms. Negotiating to keep sin in our life is not a deal to be made. His terms are already perfect. Come to Him.

Who Is The Lord? Part 1 - Lessons from Exodus - Gregg Schader - February 28, 2021 - Exodus 7:18-8:15 Moses tells Pharaoh that the Lord has said "let my people go." Pharaoh's response is "Who is the Lord, that I should obey his voice?" He will soon learn. As a prelude to the plagues, staffs are turned into serpents, and God shows His dominance through the swallowing of all the Egyptian's snakes.... Through the plagues, God continues to show his dominance over things the Egyptians hold in reverence. The Nile has been a source of life. It turns to blood in the first plague, becoming a stench in he land. Frogs have been a symbol of fertility, but now that they have overrun the land, they are a foul smell and are sickening to the people. Still Pharaoh has a hard heart. Our hearts can be hard as well. We need to be sickened by sin. Let's not be like Pharaoh who chose to spend another night with the frogs. Choose instead to know God through Christ.
