Bicyclists have the right to share the road and travel in the same direction as motor vehicles. They are often hard to see in traffic and have no protection fro...m a traffic crash. Give bicyclists room when you drive. Reduce speed as you pass them. Air pressure from a vehicle that passes them quickly can send them off balance. Be aware that the bicyclist in front of you can react to road hazards like a motorcyclist would with sudden changes of speed, direction or lane position. The rules of the road and right-of-way apply to and protect these and other highway users. You must yield the right-of-way to them just as you would to another vehicle. And they must obey the rules of the road just as motor vehicle drivers do.

All traffic including TCAT buses will detour around the road closure starting Monday.

OurBus Adds Routes to Syracuse OurBus is now offering a new intercity bus routes running between Ithaca, Cortland and Syracuse, including a stop at Syracuse Un...iversity and the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse, the latter of which is one of the state-run COVID-19 vaccination sites. Starting April 5, the company will begin offering the routes departing from downtown Ithaca 6 days per week - visit Ourbus.com for more information. OurBus had already established a Johnson City route to take those interested to the vaccination clinic there, located at SUNY Binghamton, partnering with Tompkins County to provide free rides - call 2-1-1 for more information. The routes to between Syracuse and Ithaca WILL NOT be free of charge.

If the conditions are particularly poor, Ithaca Carshare may waive cancellation fees at their sole discretion and will inform drivers when this happens. Don't forget your face covering when driving or riding in an Ithaca Carshare vehicle. It is a requirement for using the shared vehicles! The fleet team is doing an amazing job, with increased cleaning and disinfecting of the cars, truck, and vans that are shared by many members. Do your part to keep everyone safe.

Winter is on it's way! Ithaca Carshare encourages members to take care when embarking on Winter driving trips. Here are some important things to consider: -We discourage driving during snow events. -You can cancel bookings for weather related reasons at *no cost.* -Carshare sends out a snow removal crew to clean cars off after 3 inches of accumulation. ... -Each car is equipped with an ice scraper and snow shovel. -Half the fleet is outfitted in snow tires.
