IYSSE at Geneseo 21.01.2021

The $900 billion dollar COVID relief bill is a clear exposure of the indifference of both corporate parties to the well being of the working class. While millions are out of work, with many thousands of dollars behind on rent and utilities, the capitalist controlled state has seen it fit to hand hundreds of billions of dollars to corporations and the military instead of supporting those in need. There can be no doubt that both the Republicans and Democrats are more concerned... with the profits of corporations than the lives of working class Americans. Neither party deserves support. Workers and students must break from these capitalist parties and join the International Youth and Students for Social Equality and the Socialist Equality Party in building an independent movement of the working class for socialism. https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2020/12/22/pers-d22.html

The pandemic has vastly accelerated the global crisis of world capitalism. The wealth of the ruling elite has soared to unprecedented heights. Workers’ incomes,... meanwhile, have plunged due to massive job losses and the meager, and in many parts of the world nonexistent, relief programs governments promulgated in tandem with the initial COVID-19 lockdown measures. Join the IYSSE in celebrating the relaunch of the World Socialist Web Site on Sunday, October 25 at 1PM. The relaunch of the site is not just a technological advancement, but a political one as well. With the new and improved interface it is now easier than ever for workers and students to access a database of tens of thousands of articles, pamphlets and books with the highest level of Marxist analysis and political importance to the workers movement. This comes at a critic...al point in history. Global capitalism is decaying, inequality is rising to ever greater levels, a global pandemic threatens the health and safety of millions, while democratic forms of rule are giving way to fascism. It is more important than ever for students and youth to take advantage of the new WSWS and use it vast database of Marxist knowledge to advance their own political development. https://www.wsws.org//welcoming-relaunch-wsws-online-rally

The IYSSE at Geneseo stands with New York teachers who are fighting to protect the health and safety of themselves and their students. We encourage all students, faculty and staff at colleges and K-12 schools to join the National Educators Rank-and-File Safety and committee and contact us to learn how to get involved. https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2020/10/20/nyte-o20.html

Meeting this Sunday, October 11, at 7 PM! Click the link below to register to attend. Donald Trump returned to the White House this week to escalate his coup plotting amidst a deepening crisis of the administration and the entire political system. He is resuming his campaign to incite fascistic violence, proclaim the election a fraud, deploy paramilitary forces, and challenge any result that goes against him in the Supreme Court. The Democrats, for their part, respond at eve...ry point by covering up what is happening and doing whatever they can to prevent a mass mobilization against Trump. They want at all costs to keep the political crisis in the state apparatus within the state apparatus itself. The sickness in the White House is not simply a matter of the infection of Trump and other top administration officials. The disease is deeply rooted in the character of American society. Whatever happens in the next several weeks, American democracy is at death’s door. Join Socialist Equality Party candidates Joseph Kishore and Norissa Santa Cruz for a discussion on the US political crisis and the way forward working class. https://www.socialism2020.org/live
