The Great Pumpkin rises from the pumpkin patch every Halloween and flies around bringing treats to all those that believe in him. If you see this guy be sure to ask him for Halloween treat.

Harvest is HERE! Yes that's right , we are officially starting to harvest grapes next week. We will have grapes and juice from Madera California. Lamanuzzi & Pantaleo ( Pia label grapes, Regina label Juice ). You can expect to see the grape and juice here the second week of September! Many of the Grapes have hit 23 Brix, so expect to see grapes ranging anywhere from 22.5-25.0 Brix. Pricing will be available soon.

At 2:30 a.m. this morning, the holiday orders were staged and ready to ship.sure, the docks were a little crowded this morning, but thanks to our outstanding dispatch crew, everything is on the road and headed to destination!

Potatoes are one of the most popular vegetables out there, and heading into the nice weather, they tend to play an important role in our Summer menus. Steve Zents is a member of the Receiving and Quality Control department at James Desiderio Inc. Steve receives and inspects several loads of potatoes daily. Some say potato, some say Potaatoh, Steve says Where the heck am I going to put all of these things?!! With his culinary background, the other question Steve tends to ask is So, how do you want ‘em baked, grilled, mashed, or fried?

Dalton Wentz from our Quality Control department is inspecting a beautiful load of freshly delivered NYS grown Asparagus. Asparagus is healthy and tastes great, especially when cooked on the grill!

The call of duty was answered this morning by the Desiderio cousins. Jimmy, Alena, Christopher, Sidney, and Cole Desiderio are proud to be a part of the Farmers to Families food box production. The cousins have been playing an active role for the last several weeks in the packaging and distribution of the program. This mornings production run created another 6000 boxes that will be distributed to the Buffalo, Rochester, Erie and surrounding area communities.

With the harvest season of local produce going into full swing, we would like to thank our NYS growers for our long-standing relationship. To date for the 2019-2020 NYS growing season we have already made more than $2.5 million in purchases to support NY's agriculture business.

This Memorial Day, we remember the men and women who have given their lives in service to our country.

Today, as we temporarily hit the "slow down" button, we would like to thank our dedicated employees who have been working tirelessly during these unprecedented times. These unsung heroes are part of the reason the produce supply chain hasn’t missed a beat. With the Easter holiday here, let us all, regardless of your beliefs, look at today as the start of a new chapter and one day closer to the end of this horrible pandemic. Happy Easter! In the midst of the challenges of the last several weeks, we thought it would be fitting to get Old Glory flying high and proud for all to see in the front of 550 Bailey Avenue.
