THREADS #KeeganMonaghan Now Open, August 3September 27, 2020 James Fuentes is pleased to announce Threads, Keegan Monaghan’s second solo exhibition with the gallery, opening to the public on August 3, 2020, and running through September 27, 2020. This will be our first exhibition in the gallery since closing on March 13, 2020. ... The exhibition’s largest painting, Clouds (all works 2020), depicts a crowd of people rendered with thick daubs of color that coalesce as bodies and shadows only from a distance. Like many of the paintings in this exhibition, the work vacillates between impressionistic abstraction and intimate representation. Monaghan started Clouds in October of last year before a global pandemic and uprisings in support of Black lives reshaped our understanding of mass gatherings and collectivity in general. Gallery Summer hours are MondayFriday, 106 (August 3August 28) and WednesdaySunday, 106 (September 2September 27). Individual or small group appointments are also possible Monday through Friday in the month of August.
