I could burst into happy tears looking at these pictures. Like most 2020 brides, Kirsten planned a wedding. And then replanned that wedding and then replanned that wedding. So to see this gorgeous girl have the most perfect wedding day makes my heart want to explode with happiness. By being a wedding planning, you develop these relationships with your couples that are like no other. So when you finally see their wedding come to fruition, you’re like a proud mom/sister/best fr...iend who is experiencing the most unique happiness there is! I know that this may look like just a walkway made of stones and gravel. But let me tell you a little story about this walkway. . . . When it became apparent that my bride’s November 2020 wedding was in jeopardy she cancelled her venue wedding. She decided, rather quickly, that she was going to push her wedding forward because she simply could not wait any longer to marry her fiancé. So we did. We pushed her wedding up 3 months and planned an entire wedding in 2. And it was... beautiful. . . The day before the wedding, the aftermath of a hurricane loomed our way and the forecast for the big day looked rather bleak. So we adjusted and planned for tents and pathways for her guests to navigate her yard. We had a solid plan in place with only one unsolved issue. This strip of dirt that would quickly turn into mud once it started raining and their guests would be walking through mud puddles. . . . And then the man she couldn’t wait to marry stepped in. He sent a text that said don’t come outside. And when she finally was allowed to. She had seen that he had built her a walkway to ease the very last concern on her mind. In this small yet profound action, I was reminded that at the end of the day, when you love someone, you would cross or build any bridge to get to them if it meant easing their worries. That love exists in the smallest of moments and gestures. And that when you find the person you can’t wait to marry, it doesn’t matter how or when it happens. And that is what a wedding is all about. . . . So why it might look like just a walkway, it represents so much more.

This past weekend I had the privilege to join Colleen & Denis for their big day. Like most weddings scheduled to happen in 2020, the path to I Do was not a straight line. Instead it was one filled with bumps, ditches and zig zags. However, despite every obstacle thrown in their way, Colleen & Denis had the most beautiful wedding, filled with love, laughter and bagpipers! . . . A couple of things I learned about this beautiful couple while working with them. >Colleen & Denis... did a lot of bowling in their early dating days. >They know and love to have a good time. >The way they look at each other is what you imagine when you think of the phrase the look of true love. . . .
