Unlike more conventional heating systems that use a chimney or flue to allow harmful gases to escape from your home, vented heating systems typically use a PVC pipe to allow these harmful gases to escape. Typically the pipes exit your home from the basement and are fairly low to the ground. It is very important to keep these vents clear of snow to prevent harmful carbon monoxide from backing up into your home. If you have any questions, please call your heating company or feel free to call us at Janelli Security for more information. Please avoid travel and stay safe during this blizzard of 2017!

A very tragic, preventable loss. NEVER keep your portable generators indoors as they can fill the home with the "silent killer", Carbon Monoxide. "CO" is odorless and cannot be seen. Any home with fuel burning appliances should have one or more Carbon Monoxide detectors. This simple, lifesaving device will alert you upon the detection of even a small amount of CO. These detectors can also be added to your existing security or fire alarm system. For more information on Carbon Monoxide or Carbon Monoxide monitoring, contact Janelli Security 1-855-JANELLI
