Perfection is subjective. Funny thing about progress is that when it’s happening you don’t feel it. You need to learn to celebrate small victories, no matter how insignificant the victory may seem to someone else. Martial arts training is a cycle of self doubt, progress, more self doubt, and more progress. You have to allow nature to take its course, and be patient with the process of self improvement. I asked my Junior students the other day during class, what does a tre...e need in order to grow talk and strong?. The answers the gave were: 1) Water 2) sunlight Although they knew what the tree needed PHYSICALLY, they overlooked the most important ingredient that EVERYTHING needs to grow. TIME.
