Hi Everyone! We've been getting HEAPS of messages, emails, and calls telling us that our former neighbours are still running the rumour mill telling people we are closed. However, that is not the case. We are in the middle of constructing and re-launcing the store. At this point I'm pretty annoyed and cannot imagine why they keep doing this nor why they would waste the time lying. We suggest they spend more time cleaning up the filth so the plaza isn't over-run once again w...ith bugs once the warm weather starts up, or even start now so all the mice that are running rampant due to them leaving food waste EVERYWHERE might actually not keep nesting. Fact is we had to leave because they were so disgustingly filthy. Since they want to spread false information we felt the need to give some facts. Fact #1 - We had to call in the state of New York in order to get the restaurants to remove an illegal wall/doorway they built which blocked/locked our emergency exit. (see picture #1-2, #3 shows the door down indicating the emergency exit) That was when we realized we had to leave. You cannot jeopardize the entire plaza because you want to make a hallway into your prep room. It's against the law to block a means of egress. We asked several times for them to remove the door/wall and they refused until the state of New York made them. Fact #2 - The building is inundated with bugs and vermin. It got so bad we had to hide bug traps around the store in order to keep it from looking like a third world country with bugs flying all over. Our inventory was starting to be ruined in our warehouse due to the various mice/rats that are attracted the food scraps they left thrown all over. (See pictures #4 - #8) It even got so bad for even they had to hang fly paper in the hall way over their prep stations. And yes they are preparing and storing some of the food you eat in a dirty hallway, not a kitchen. Fact #3 - The stench coming from next door was unbelievable. Every day we had to endure the smell of burned old cheap cooking oil. Why is that? For starters the cheap meats they fry leave a lot of smells and they don't have proper ventilation. They also literally store a huge vat of old burnt oil nearly outside our backdoor. If a grease fire broke out the bucket would have been like a little bomb waiting to explode in flame (see picture #9 & 10). As you can see it was not wise to continue to operate next to a pig sty. We've rented in plazas with restaurants before. In fact one had five different restaurants and all five weren't as filthy as this place. I've only posted a few of the many photos I've taken over the last two years to show just how disgusting it all became. All in all we weren't going to say anything but the constant stream of lies saying we've closed is just too much. Best to stick to cleaning your mess instead of spreading rumours. That all said, we look forward to reopening sometime in the next two months.
