Dominion Voting has partnered with us since 2008, and multiple audits conducted after each election has proved their machines accurately count Jefferson County voters' ballots. Here, they set the record straight about alleged issues with their voting systems.

This drop box, which is being installed today, was made possible through a Center for Tech and Civic Life grant. Voters (or soon-to-be voters) may deposit any elections-related materials in this box, including absentee ballots, and it will be retrieved by our bipartisan team. Are militias permitted at the polls? No. It is illegal for groups of people to organize as private militias without permission from the state. It is a felony to assembly or aspire to assembly as a paramilitary organization, with knowledge of its purpose, and to practice with a military weapon to further the purpose of that organization. Anyone who sees or hears about this kind of activity should contact local law enforcement immediately as well as the New York State Attorney General.

POLL SITE CHANGE Town of Worth voters will cast their ballots at the town barn, 24600 County Route 189, from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 3. We appreciate the town's willingness to make the barn site accessible to voters and comfortable for inspectors on short notice. The decision to move the poll site from the town office to the town barn came after penicillium/aspergillus and stachybotrys spores were found in the town office bathroom after an extended period of non-use due to COVID-19 restrictions.

MAKE A PLAN TO VOTE What's your plan for casting a ballot if the Health Department orders you to quarantine around the election, either because you have contracted COVID or encountered someone who has? Reminder: You can apply for an absentee ballot and never cast it. Or cast it and then show up at the polls. REMINDER: BALLOT SELFIES ARE NOT ALLOWED IN NEW YORK Election Law 17-130: "Any person who: Shows his ballot after it is prepared for voting, to any person so as to reveal the contents ... is guilty of a misdemeanor."... This was upheld by a court in 2017. Take a picture of your ballot before you fill it out. Take a picture of your envelope before you drop it off. As a result, to the extent that the mail is used to transmit ballots to and from voters, there is a risk that at least in certain circumstances, ballots may be requested in a manner that is consistent with your election rules and returned ...promptly, and yet not be returned in time to be counted. Specifically, it appears that a completed ballot must be postmarked by Election Day and received by elections officials 7 days after the election. If that understanding is correct, voters who choose to mail their ballots may do so on or before Tuesday, Nov. 3. However, it further appears that state law generally permits voters to apply by mail for a ballot as late as 7 days before the election.
